Two Funky Fresh tunes from Poros and BarryTones! Both songs meet where worlds collide, with sliced up breaks and sultry sax.

Amen Funk (Maybe) was done in-person, with both artists jamming on an Ableton Push, before laying down some solos, BarryTones on the sax and Poros on the Keys (well, pads).

Inspirational Warehouse is more recent so had to be made from a distance. BarryTones takes the lead and blesses us with smooth lines and phrases all the way through.

"Everytime I go to visit my dad (Baz, AKA BarryTones), we end up listening to funk, jazz and a bit of hip-hop, we've got lots of overlap in our tastes in music, and I think the styles are similar between funk and hip-hop, there's just a generational difference, if that makes sense, and that's where these songs come from.

The body of the work on Maybe was done during one night just over a year ago when I went for a visit, he took a lot of convicing to keep the 'maybe' adlib in the song. Hopefully it's warmed on him by now.

And then Inspirational warehouses was done last weekend, I had a skeleton of beat but it was totally different. So I slowed it down, added in the new bass and keys, sent it over and got a few different takes of the sax, and here we are."
